This is really neat when you need to contact a requester on mturk quickly. The link below is the default form used to contact a requester, the only part of the link that needs to be correct is the requesters ID. The HIT ID can be whatever you want and the requesters name at the end can also be whatever you want. They do need to be in the link when you go to contact them or otherwise the email will faill

    new updated contact link:

    Code:
    https://www.mturk.com/mturk/contact?subject=Regarding+Amazon+Mechanical+Turk+HIT&requesterId=REPLACEWITHREQUESTERID

any questions or clarity feel free to post below

Not sure if it was a fluke or what but I successfully emailed a requester yesterday using this:

    Code:
    https://www.mturk.com/mturk/contact?subject=Regarding+Amazon+Mechanical+Turk+HIT&requesterId=Axxxxxxxxxx
I removed the HIT ID number and the requester's name from the code in the post above.

Edit: I've also now learned that you don't even need the "subject" part in the URL as it will automatically add it. You can use this:

    Code:
    https://www.mturk.com/mturk/contact?requesterId=Axxxxxxxxxx

Reposting this info I'd posted in 'The "PandA" trick & more!', for reference:

In addition to searching for the requester on Turkopticon, HITs posted on the forum with MTurk Great HIT Export are also a good place to find a requester's ID. (See How To Search MTG.)

Another way to get 'contact requester' links is to use this script that makes them appear on requesters' Turkopticon pages automatically. :lever: mmmturkeybacon Add Contact Link To Turkopticon

Update Mar 2015: And with my script CH Requester Results Refinements, you can have contact links appear on all requester results pages on MTurk too, even ones with no results currently found.

Update Apr 2015: Cristo's script Mturk Unqualified Contact adds contact links to the details of HITs you aren't qualified for on search results pages.

Also, since someone was concerned about this recently: Note that you will see
    Contact Requester ""
at the top of the contact form page when you use a contact link that doesn't have the requester name embedded into it; Amazon's programming isn't smart enough to fill in their name if you aren't handing the name to it in the link. This is normal, and as long as you used a valid requester ID and didn't otherwise mangle the link, the message will send successfully.

OK, I assume we are talking about adding this ID or link to the page in the box that says "Subject" that appears after one clicks on the link: "Contact Requester (requesterId must be added by hand!)". I have attempted the numbers of times trying to follow the above suggestions as well as some others on this page and always get this reply (this is in an open HIT of course that I need to contact requester about):

    " Failed to send comments
We're sorry. There was a problem sending your comments. Please try again later."

I've also tried putting the whole thing in the address box for url's with the same result.

Please, please tell me what am I doing wrong?"

    Thanks, Phil K

Zingy's link didn't work for me neither.

There are some spaces in ZinGy's link.

    This one did though.

Yeah, I'm not sure if it was just a vbulletin thing, or what, but I noticed that it would always auto-insert random spaces whenever I would post that link with [noparse] tags and it would drive me crazy. I always had to use [code] tags to get it to display properly. Xenforo doesn't seem to do that, though, from what I've noticed.

VBulletin inserts spaces to interrupt any sufficiently-long string of non-whitespace text to ensure the line would wrap properly instead of 'stretching out the page' / 'breaking the layout'. It looks like Xenforo uses the 'word-wrap: break-word' CSS property instead, that allows overly-long strings of text to be forcibly wrapped in the middle of the string as needed.

I can't get this to work. I'm trying to send an email using this link:

    https://www.mturk.com/mturk/contact?subject=Regarding+Amazon+Mechanical+Turk+HIT+#37W3JXSD67JAUJ5TSIQC6QH7YWWWYK&requesterId=AK1RLDC24ZDLY&requesterName=Matt Goldrick

    Regarding this hit

    and it isn't working

I just get "Failed to send comments"

45 min on the HIT itself trying to get it to work (it just never ended), and then another 30 trying to figure out how to email >.<

God forbid Amazon list hits that you return/expire like they do the ones you submit so you can just single click the requester's name to send an email.... this is SO much easier.

This will work you had a # and a space that didn't belong.

Updated OP with the new contact any requester link. This thread is outdated and it's when I first figured out the technique so thats probably why its not working too well anymore.

Contact any requester trick is also stated in this thread for future reference as well

Try once more, you may have caught it before my last edit.

It worked when I sent a message.

It worked this time, thanks a lot!

Did you do the hit too? If it was because I posted it I'm sorry, I had no idea it would be broken even while doing it (although it did have a few hiccups).

It still works the same as it did when you first posted this, it was just the vbulletin-added space in the link that was throwing people off. :)

That's just an optional part of the subject line, FYI.

@Framework43@Framework43 made a gif illustrating how to get to one of the places MTurk provides a built-in 'contact requester' link, for when a HIT you qualify for from that requester is still available:

(Also, Cristo's script Mturk Unqualified Contact adds contact links to the details of HITs you aren't qualified for on search results pages.)

(Another place built-in contact links are provided is from the requesters' names on your daily status lists of HITs you've completed.)

In my post in this thread, I pointed out that you can look in several other places to find a requester ID. And in the future, keep the requester's results page open in another tab while you work on the HIT, so you have it handy if you need it then.
