You mean a forum section for general discussion? We have The Lounge for that.

So I've never tried to use Grind Mode prior to today. Flipped it on for a while, and the first thing I noticed was that it doesn't work very well at all if you have the forum set to Live Update.

Is there any way to work around that? I'm guessing that Grind Mode only works to filter out posts after they've already been posted, so it can't stop the non-HIT posts from showing up in live update, but if there's some room for modification there, that would be kind of cool.

I don't know if it would be possible but I think it would be cool to be able to set certain posters to show link posts only. I've noticed some people on the forum are pretty snarky on a regular basis but they also post lots of hits so I'm torn on ignoring them so It would be cool to only see posts from them that contain links.

Thanks for setting this forum up!

My suggestion is that you set mturkgrind to support and use HTTPS for the sake of user privacy and security. Basically, it's best practice that if your site uses logins, you should support encryption. XenForo's image proxy makes this really easy in terms of avoiding mixed content errors so all you need to do is set up the certificate and a redirect from the http to the https URLs (.htaccess will work). You can get free certificates via Let's Encrypt now so the cost is just a little time. I recently moved my own forum to HTTPS-only and the process was fairly painless. I hope you'll do it too!

Sometimes using HTTPS causes problems with some users. Also not much sensitive data really gets used on the forum to really incline the use of it, if we had a shop or something then I would say fair enough, but all we really have is a login system.

Thanks for your suggestion and welcome to MTG!
