    Hi everyone,

I have been having problems with my Amazon Payments account and I've called into Customer Service, and the problem is that they can't verify my info. I've submitted taxes in the past but I don't have any credit history. Their account specialist team replied back and said that they can't in any way verify my info. I've called back to their CSR and says that the account specialists have exhausted all options and that there is no way that I can verify it even if I were to submit paperwork. So without this problem fixed, I am no longer able to Turk. I was wondering if anyone can help me with this problem.

I called them, and the CSR said that there's nothing I can do to verify my information. She said normally you can send in information, but in this case it wouldn't work and that the best I could do is create a new account...

Unless you made a typo in your info the first time, I doubt that would help. :\ And if you do that, you would also have to start over on mturk, because the mturk worker account and AP account must have the same login.

Don't listen to that advice. It's never turned out well for anyone that has and you'll lose the money.

What do they mean NO credit history? ANY credit history is credit history.

Well I've never had a credit card or any student loans or anything at all.

Their most recent e-mail to me after I faxed in my documents:

    Greetings from Amazon Payments,

Unfortunately, we have been unable to confirm your account information which is required in order to utilize this service.

We regret we will not be able to allow your account to transact in the future and cannot provide any additional insight into this matter.

We do not need you to send any document. We will not be proceeding with verification.

Further correspondence regarding the restrictions of your Amazon Payments account may not be answered.

Thank you for your interest in Amazon Payments.

    Do I still keep trying?

Update: No good news yet, just more headaches.

I tried e-mail Jeff Bezos the CEO as one redditor said he did in the past and got a response. But no luck for me as of yet. I tried contacting mTurk to at least get my $200, but no reply from them yet either. I have now just filed a complaint with the BBB and we'll see how that goes.

So Amazon Payments finally responded. They are allowing me to withdraw my funds that I made, however, they are permanently blocking me afterwards and have suspended my mTurk account. I guess this is farewell.

Thanks for having me everyone. It sucks my mTurk life had to end this way. Amazon needs to better fix this problem in the future.

I suggest the administrators of this board can put a warning to people who first use mTurk to make sure their Amazon Payments account gets verified before doing any work.

Sorry to hear that. :( Amazon Payments is notoriously capricious, but your case was the first I've seen mention credit history, and their reaction seems very excessive (as usual :\ ). You are fortunate to at least have gotten your money out, some don't even get that. I'd be curious to know how long ago did you first register and start work, to have reached $200 already?

So I've been lurking on this forum for the past couple weeks, but decided to sign up because my Payments account just got restricted, saying they can't verify my info. I called CS and the person on the phone said that someone would look into it (because the emails are incredibly vague and never say what exactly they're having trouble verifying) and get back to me within 24 hours, any advice on how this is likely to go?

(This is completely fucking absurd though considering my account has been open for over 2 years at this point and they didn't have an issue with it until now)

The same thing happened to me last year. I think I had to wait 3 days or so after calling CS before it was resolved. To this day I still can't figure out why it went from verified to not verified when I didn't change any of my info.

I don't suppose you recall placing an Amazon.com order to an alternate shipping or billing name/address prior to that...? Could be a possible trigger (that's what caused Manzician's problem a couple months ago).

Well, my account is verified now. I was panicking a bit yesterday because their emails are incredibly vague. Turns out they just needed proof of my current address. I faxed them the info they needed (20 minutes ago) and they've verified it and unsuspended my account.

I went back to my order history and did see I had ordered something right around the time my account had to be re verified. We had just moved a few months prior to this and it would have been the first time ordering something at our new address. I doubt I would have updated my address on Amazon.com right when we moved. I most likely changed the shipping and billing address when I placed my order.

I don't know why I didn't think make the connection at the time. I guess I just assumed that this was based solely on my bank information that I provided.

Thanks for always being helpful clickhappier!
