Hello MTG, This is most definitely one of the hardest threads I have to write and I write this with a very heavy heart.. Unfortunately StanleyMilgram aka Tom has passed away. As we all are more than likely aware Tom is one of MTG's volunteer moderators and took time out of his life to help make MTG a better place. I received an email from Tom's step father informing me of his passing. It is suspected that Tom has committed suicide in his clinic during non business hours, his body was discovered on the 10th of September 2016. An inquest into Tom's death is being carried out. I've been informed that Tom has left a letter, inside this letter he has addressed the community, at the end of the letter he quoted: "Love and be loved, hope and hope for those who have little hope, and most of all smile when you can." He then enclosed a copy of the poem "If" by Rudyard Kipling and beneath it wrote "May Sergey rain money on everyone". Link to poem: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems-and-poets/poems/detail/46473 I cannot imagine the pain his family is going through, the emails I exchanged with his step father have shown the raw emotion. I'm taken back by this, I would message Tom quite often to see how things were going and to have a chat and he always seemed so happy and full of life, he had a couple of rough patches but nothing seemed out of the ordinary, however sometimes life takes its toll. Please if you're ever feeling like suicide is the only option please reach out to someone, anyone.. My inbox is always open for a chat, otherwise there's heaps of help available, visit http://www.suicide.org/international-suicide-hotlines.html to find help within your region, don't ever think for one second your life isn't valuable and don't ever be afraid to speak up, whether it be you need help or to ask someone "are you okay?". This is all the information I've currently got, I have received permission to write this thread from Tom's step father. Rest in peace and fly high Tom Sincerely, The MTG Community.
